Chairside Space Maintainer Distal Shoe Wire Refills for your existing kit. The Distal shoe provides support when the opposing tooth has yet to erupt. The preferred choice for guiding the eruption of 1st permanent molars. If used after extraction, the distal shoe is placed down the distal wall of the extracted socket. If used on a healed edentulous space an incision is made with a sterile scalpel. The position of the incision should be determined by examining x-rays of the area. X-ray the appliance in the mouth to insure proper fit prior to cementation. Wires Sold in packages of 10. Available in Wide and Narrow widths (see size guide image for corresponding band sizes). Denovo’s Chairside Space Maintainer System:

Based on the original Unitek™ design, fabricate a pediatric space maintainer appliance all while chairside. With a little practice the procedure only takes 15 to 20 minutes and also only requires one patient visit. Just fit a band size (choose from 39 full and half sizes) to the gap adjacent tooth, similarly size to the gap space by adjusting the wire length, crimp and cement. The kit does not include Cement but any glass ionomer will work.
